Tegenungan Waterfall
Tegenungan Waterfall is one of the popular waterfalls in Bali, located in Kemenuh, Sukawati, Gianyar. Known for its beautiful scenery and fast-flowing water, this place offers a refreshing atmosphere amidst the lush vegetation of the forest. There is also a shallow bathing area under the waterfall and several cafes around it. Tegenungan Waterfall offers various interesting things that you can enjoy: Soaking and Swimming: Under the waterfall there is a natural pool with clear and fresh water, perfect for soaking or swimming. Although the water discharge is quite strong, especially during the rainy season, the pool area is relatively safe for playing in the water. Several sources mention that there are lifeguards on duty. Instagrammable Photo Spots: The beauty of Tegenungan Waterfall, with a backdrop of fast-flowing waterfalls and lush green trees, makes for many interesting spots for taking pictures. You can take pictures from various angles, including near the waterfall, on the second-level cliff, or with a backdrop of forest scenery. There are even photo spots such as giant bird nests and swings facing the waterfall. Enjoying the Beauty of Nature: Surrounded by dense tropical vegetation, this waterfall offers a cool and calming atmosphere. This is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the fresh air, and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. You can sit back on the rocks while enjoying the view. Bathing in the Natural Spring Shower: Not far from the main waterfall, there are water fountains that come from natural springs. The water is clean and cool; many local and foreign tourists take the time to bathe here, especially during hot weather. Watching the Sunrise: If you come early, you have the opportunity to witness the beautiful sunrise view with Tegenungan Waterfall. Surrounding Exploration: In addition to the waterfall itself, you can explore the surrounding area, which may have a footpath, small temple, or stone carvings. Supporting Facilities: Tegenungan Waterfall is equipped with adequate facilities for visitor comfort, such as a large parking area. Toilets and changing rooms/rinses. Souvenir shops. Stalls or cafes selling local food and drinks, such as Omma Bali, which offers a view of the waterfall. Well-maintained footpaths and stairs make it easy to access the waterfall. Keep in mind that during the rainy season (around November to March), the waterfall’s discharge can be very large and the water tends to be murky. It is recommended to visit during the dry season (April to October) to get the best experience. Although there are some sources that mention cliff-jumping activities, this is not recommended for safety reasons.
